"Have used it and loved it for years"

Some years ago I was trying to convert an old DOS program so that I could use it in Windows. Basically, I had a lot of information that the program had permitted you to enter in a non-structured format and retrieve it easily. In trying to make the very large document work in Windows, I tried several products that seemed to offer a solution. The one that worked best, by far, was Searchopia working with a huge Word document. It found whatever I was looking for in a flash. I could enter a couple of words (I had chosen the 'proximity' paramater) and it would find every instance. I'd continue searching by clicking on the button that chose the next instance. It has worked very well and continues to enable me to enter information casually in that Word document and retrieve it quickly. I do believe that the earlier product I used in DOS was called 'MemoryMate'. Searchopia made all that info continue to be useful.

I have 5 computers and can never remember where all my files are. So this program helps me track them down. It can find little words or long phrases in any file on the computer.

Windows' "Search" facility allows only the boolean operator "OR". If you need to use "AND", you must get Searchopia IE. It is a pity that Searchopia allows the use of this search opions only for the content of a file and not for the filename too.

I wish this was a standard search feature with windows. Beats "find" all to heck. I always mislay some text files and don't remember which computer or in which format they were done. Searchopia is wonderful. I highly recommend it.

This program does everythin I've been looking for. Not only does it make it easy to find files containing specific words or phrases, but it makes it easy to find the phrases in these files and copy all files containing the desired words or phrases to a separate folder or drive.

Not only a search utility.... My daughter lost some school work on a floppy disk. Bad Copy Pro got the files back and this program salvaged all the text from the damaged files.

Go to the author's web site and download the latest version, Searchopia IE 4.0. It is the fastest non-indexing search engine I know of and has more options for focusing your search than does ver 3.0, which also is much slower. I have tried many non-indexing search engines. This is the one I use 80+ percent of the time.

"My right hand tool"

Have been using Searchopia in my preparation for Bible study and the multitude of information on my machine, over 6gb worth. It finds the files I need instantly. This helps in quicker time to prepare a lesson. Thanks to Sunrizen's David A. Kalman for a great product. Wouldn't be without it.

I always planned to put all my stories and illustrations into a database, but of courese it never happend. I would have taken many hours. Instead, I found Searchopia. Now it can find them easily and quickly just the way they are. tharries.

I used to have to manually do 'finds' in some of my log files and when searching for specific information. Especially if I was looking for TWO particular variables on one line. There was nothing that really accomplished this feat easily until Searchopia. It's fast, friendly and makes searching for particular text entries a breeze. After long using PIMs and databases to store my random information I found Searchopia which can view your entire hard drive a database. The only drawback was that the internal viewer could only handle text. With Searchopia IE now web pages can be viewed within the program and sections of text can be copied and appended to the clipboard. Highly recommended.
