  14. How To Print File Names

1. Forward
The File menu's Forward option or the ">" button will display the next file's contents.

2. Back
The File menu's Back option or the "<" button will display the previous file's contents.

3. View
The File menu's View option or the View button will display the selected file's contents. When the cursor is in the list of file names, the Enter key or a double-click with the mouse will also view files.

Searchopia can view HTM or HTML files with graphics using its internal browser. This is the same browser engine that Microsoft uses in its Internet Explorer. Graphics and pictures stored in GIF and JPG files can also be viewed. Any file type that cannot be viewed with the browser will be viewed as plain text. Don't be afraid to search or view any file type with Searchopia.

4. Launch
You can edit a file with its associated application using the Launch option. Launching a file will run the associated application. The file associations are stored in the Window's Registry. Most applications set these automatically when installed. If you need to create a file association, see Windows Help to learn how.

Also see the Find On Launch and Launch Short File Name options on the Search menu.

5. Save
The File menu's Save option or the Ctrl+S key will save any text changes made to the currently viewed file. CAUTION: Do not save changes made to nontext files like "exe" or "doc" files.

6. Save As
The File menu's Save As option will save the currently viewed file and give it a new file name.

7. Move

A single file or a group of selected files can be moved to another folder with the File menu's Move option. Simply select the drive and folder where you wish to move the files and click OK. Adding a new destination folder is optional. If you are moving a single file, you have the additional option of changing the name of the file being moved.

Selected files can also be moved using the mouse to drag-n-drop them to a Windows folder.

8. Copy
A single file or a group of selected files can be copied to another folder with the File menu's Copy option. Simply select the drive and folder where you wish to copy the files and click OK. Adding a new destination folder is optional. If you are copying a single file, you have the additional option of changing the name of the new copy.

Selected files can also be copied using the mouse to drag-n-drop them to a Windows folder while holding down the Ctrl or Alt key.

9. Rename
A file can be renamed using the File menu's Rename option or by clicking on the selected file in the list of found files.

10. Delete
The File menu's Delete option will permanently delete files from your disk without placing them in the Recycle Bin.

11. Remove
The File menu's Remove option simply removes the selected file names from the list of files that matched the search criteria. Removing files from the list is useful when you want Select All to exclude certain files.

12. Select All
The File menu's Select All option will select all the files in the list of found files. This is especially useful when used with one of the Edit menu's Copy File Name options to copy all the file names to the clipboard.

13. Properties
The File menu's Properties option will display a File Properties dialog.

14. How To Print File Names
First, use the File menu's Select All option. Second, use one of the Edit menu's Copy File Name options. Finally, Paste the names into your favorite word processor and print.

May the sun always shine brightly on all that you seek.
