Searchopia IE™ - Edit Options
1. Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete, Select All
These standard Window's commands are used to Edit Text and access the clipboard. The clipboard is used to move data within as well as between applications. Copy will replace the clipboard's contents with the text selected in a viewed file.
2. Append Text
The Edit menu's Append Text option will simply append the selected text onto the current contents of the clipboard.
3. Copy File Name and Folder
The Edit menu's Copy File Name and Folder option puts the selected file names and folder path names onto the clipboard.
Also see How To Print File Names.
4. Copy File Name Only
The Edit menu's Copy File Name Only option puts just the selected file names without the folder path names onto the clipboard.
Also see How To Print File Names.
5. HyperFind
The HyperFind feature allows you to temporarily change your search text. HyperFind quickly turns any text you highlight into a hypertangent search. During which, Find Next now looks for the text you just selected.
6. Restore Find
The Edit menu's Restore Find lets you switch, just as quickly, back to your original search criteria after a HyperFind.
7. Find Next
The Edit menu's Find Next option shows the next term that matches the search criteria in the file being viewed and highlights it. The F3 key will also Find Next.
There are several keyboard shortcuts when the cursor is flashing in the viewed text area:
1. Ctrl+Enter or Ctrl+Spacebar will Find Next.
2. Shift+Enter or Shift+Spacebar will Find Prev.
3. The Enter key or Spacebar will also Find Next when Edit Text is turned off.
4. The Esc key will move the cursor back to the list of file names.
When the cursor is in the list of file names, the Enter key or a double-click with the mouse will display the selected file's contents. Additional double clicks on the same file name will Find Next.
8. Find Prev
The Edit menu's Find Prev option shows the previous term that matched the search criteria in the file being viewed and highlights it. Shift+F3, Shift+Enter or Shift+Spacebar will also Find Prev.
